The city is highly popular among tourists and offers a wide range of cafes and restaurants. However, I found the prices to be quite high. Nevertheless, the customer service in these establishments surpasses that of Sydney. One of the highlights of my trip was strolling along the beach every morning and evening, enjoying the stunning views. Unfortunately, there were limited Uber options available, and booking one often required waiting for at least 10 minutes or more.

We stayed on a beautiful, reasonably quiet, part of the coast. We had the beach right in front of us and everything you could need within walking distance or a quick drive or ride. The Gold Coast is what you make of it and we had a beautiful relaxed couple of days with great food from The Collective Palm Beach, nice coffee and lunch from House of Hubert, Tugun, amazing fresh Italian for lunch from Tommy's Italian, Currumbin and fantastic cookies and breaky from Custard Canteen, Tallebudgera. I would not choose Tugun Tavern for dinner again, food was overpriced and lacking in quality. Staff were friendly though.

We loved Broadbeach.
We loved Broadbeach. Our accommodation was perfect - close to the beach but quiet and just a 10 minute walk to the bustle of Broadbeach Central. A great atmosphere there with plenty of dining options and a large supermarket. We didn’t need a car as taxis were cheap. We found an amazing cafe called Banksy’s close to our apartment and went every day for breakfast. Lovely staff and great food and coffee. It was a dream holiday, just too short!

Great for visits to theme parks with kids.
Great for visits to theme parks with kids. SeaWorld was fantastic as was Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. A 95km drive from GC, but well worth the trip. MovieWorld a bit disappointing as so many events closed for upgrades.
La Porchetta restaurant in heart of Broadbeach was great for evening meal.
GC easy to get around - but if travelling further afield, watch your vehicle map gps carefully as many directions very confusing! (avoid hiring a Hyundai i30)

Wonderful holiday spot.
Wonderful holiday spot. We were very central, so we could walk places and take the tram to visit different locations and shopping malls. The beach was just a stones throw away from our unit, along with a supermarket and mall, all within a 5 minute walk. Lots of lovely restaurants and cafes to choose from for your dining pleasure.
The view from our unit on the 15th floor was amazing. Sweeping views of the coastline up to Surfers Paradise and down to Burleigh Heads Pavillion. The apartment was very clean, modern and had everything we needed for our stay. The cost of accommodation on the Gold Coast has increased significantly since covid. The rates at many highrise apartments per night are nearly double what they were 3 years ago. Southern Cross have managed to keep their rates within affordable reach compared to others. This was a game changer for our family!
Very modern and comfortable. Views were fantastic. 24 hr reception.
Plenty of space and conveniences in the serviced apartments. Close to supermarket ( virtually on the ground floor), coffee shops and restaurants.
A short walk to the light rail on the Gold Coast which services shops, beaches and tourist attractions.
Our apartment was on the 51st floor and was extremely quiet.
Great value for money. Great to get away during Covid. Covid safety was followed at the hotel.
We didn’t have time to check out the pool and spa.
The breakfast was amazing as you could have a buffet breakfast on the 77th floor of the Skypoint Lookout. Even cheaper if you have a Seniors card. The view was great from the apartment and well set up kitchen. The best part was that you could leave your car in the garage as shops, restaurants and the beach were all within walking distance. Or you could just stay at the hotel, what with 3 swimming pools to choose from and a spa, as well as a burger restaurant right next to the pool. The Lifts were also fast.
The view from the room was fabulous. We could see the beach plus the gold coast water ways. The room was very large and exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately, we only needed the room for one night as it was a last minute booking due to our plans at the time. Will definitely come back with family and friends next time, hopefully for longer. The room has everything a family needs and was extremely clean. Loved it! Location was great. We could walk everywhere and did not need our vehicle.
Everything else, large rooms, not the newest but they've been renovated and solid. The view out to the Tweed River is priceless. Very relaxing. I never realised Coolangatta, at the very southend end of the Gold Coast and northern NSW coasts are one of the prettiest parts of the Eastern coastline. Coolangatta is a little gem with 1000s of cheap eateries and shops that are right on the street. Streets that seem to have much less traffic. Such a relief to get away from those Mega-shopping centres!!
A great hotel with great pool facilities for the entire family. Buffet breakfast was fabulous for the kids with plenty of variety. All the staff members except one were fantastic, particularly Christian at the concierge and Michael, the manager. The room was nicely presented with great facilities. Comfortable bed with clean sheets. The whole hotel smelled lovely and the doormen were superbly attentive and polite. I definitely recommend their high tea and dining at their restaurants.
The location is good, very close to Gold Coast Airport (3-5 mins' drive). Easy to get to the downtown and all the other attraction sites. Brad, the manager, is super friendly and helpful. He provides a lot of valuable suggestions on where to go and what needs to be aware of in advance to our little adventures.
Besides, the two kitties (Bila and Vista) provide additional fun to our family's stay. The two brothers are a good combination of shy and outgoing.
Family friendly accommodation but dont expect 5 star. more like 3 1/2 star. we were mostly out in the daytime so this was satisfactory for our needs. Central location but not much road noise/ quiet neighbours, views were great. Made good use of Pool and bbq. Washing machine and clothes line. Spacious 3 bed apartment. Air conditioning didnt cool every room unless on non stop. Kitchen equiped with most items.
Gorgeous views of the ocean! The apartment was spacious and clean. There was a nice little care package of food goodies left for us which was a nice touch. The bed in the master bedroom was a large King size which was a bonus. The location was perfect for us as we were there for the Blues on Broadbeach music festival so we were right bang in the middle of all of the action.....perfect!
The views were outstanding -ocean view from every window -
The Shower was good and hot -
Hotel was good friendly staff - I would def stay there again - right on the tram line - Close to Cavill ave for all the activities and restaurants the night markets - it felt safe - the facilities were good - don’t expect a 5 star luxury hotel - it’s good family appart well
Priced
look it's your basic no frills budget motel on the Gold Coast... if you attending dream-world you could walk to it ... movie world and wet & wild are not far away short drive.. plenty of beds in the room and ok size..has a pool... so if you only want a cheap motel ..perfect .. there is a great tavern not far away boathouse ..good meals and a Westfield not far away either
Booked a last minute, 1 night trip just to visit family holidaying in the area and was so pleasantly surprised that I plan to bring my family back. The resort is lovely. Modern, straight across the road from a stunning beach, and with parking and breakfast included I don’t know why anyone would stay on the Gold Coast itself.
The room is sizable and comfy. I stayed on the hinterland side which had beautiful views of the Broadbeach Waters canals and Gold Coast hinterland. The hotel has many options for dining which is great - highly recommend the breakfast package at Nineteen which is the same price as the buffet but 100 times better.
A few minutes walk to The Gold Coast Convention Centre & Star Casino. Also a short walk to all the Broadbeach restaurants & cafes. 5 minute walk to beach.
Clean rooms, comfortable bed , well equipped kitchen & ocean view. Good car parking. Nice staff. Fast lift even though the hotel was very busy.
Very comfortable. The suites are great for families. Tasty breakfast included. The luxury bath and hair products are a bonus and a nice change from the usual cheap crap hotels give. The reception staff and even housekeeping staff were always smiling and friendly.
A really nice family hotel with everything necessary nearby. Busy and lots of activities for families to do. Highly recommend this hotel and we always come back when we travel to the Gold Coast.
