Bar and restaurant area looked great although we didn't use it as it was only a quick stop over before a flight in the morning. Room was superb. Probably the most comfortable mattress I've stayed on. Wish I knew what it was as I would get one in a heartbeat. I slept like a log. And it was quiet.

This 15th-century, historically listed manor house is set in an acre of beautiful gardens. It is less than 2 miles from Stansted Airport, and offers free Wi-Fi and free private parking on site. We loved our stay – the room was comfortable and warm. The self-service breakfast was just perfect, as we had a very early checkout. The location is great, the pub down the street is very welcoming, and the fish and chips in Takeley are excellent. Can definitely recommend this location.
